Creating Audio Files

After you create a song using ChordSong, you may want to save your song in a standard audio file format, such as MP3 or WAV format. You can do this by using ChordSong along with additional conversion software, in two steps:

  1. Create a MIDI file. Use ChordSong's Export MIDI File command to export your song as a MIDI file. For example, if you've created a ChordSong song file called "MySong.cdsg", you can use this Export command to create a MIDI file called "MySong.mid".
  2. Create your MP3 file. For this step you will need another software program to read your MIDI file ("MySong.mid") and create an audio file (for example, "MySong.mp3"). One conversion program recommended by ChordSong users is Direct MIDI to MP3 Converter from Piston Software. (Piston also offers a free online version of their converter.)
