Diatonic ChordsDiatonic chords are chords which contain only notes "in your scale". For example, diatonic chords in the key of D major will use only notes from the D major scale. Most of the chords in most songs are diatonic chords. In many songs, all of the chords are diatonic. So ChordSong gives you a Diatonic Chords window to play with these chords. Open it via the Chord > Diatonic Chords menu command. When your song starts with a major chord, the Diatonic Chords window shows you the diatonic chords in that key. The chord buttons work the same as the buttons in the Chord Grid and Top Chords windows. All of these diatonic chords are also available in the Chord Grid, and many of them are in the Top Chords window too. You can find a fuller tutorial about diatonic chords in our online article at drawmusic.com: Chord Patterns: Diatonic Chords. |
