Controlling Note Length

When you create notes, ChordSong makes each note extend to the start of the next note (or to the end of the measure). This makes it easy to create a string of notes one after the other. But sometimes you want to shorten a note or extend it into the next measure.

To shorten a note:

  1. Click on the End Note tool .
  2. Click on the middle of a note in your song at the point where you want the note to end.

To un-shorten a note: To restore the length of a shortened note, again click on the End Note tool , and then click on the very end of the note. This restores the note's original length.

To extend (tie) a note into the next measure: This is just like un-shortening a note. With the End Note tool selected, click on the very end of the note you want to extend (or, click on the beginning of the next measure; it's the same thing).
